Dr. David Horner - author, philosopher, debater, musician and fisherman - holds a DPhil from Oxford University and teaches philosophy and Biblical studies at Biola University. He also directs The Illuminatio Project, which aims to bring the Christian vision of goodness, truth and beauty to the church and culture.
Dave was on Cru staff for 6 years, working with students at Stanford University and leading summer projects in Eastern Europe. Dr. Horner is the author of the upcoming IVP book "UniverSanity: How to Go to College without Losing your Mind, your Faith, or your Character." He is married to Debbie, and he has two daughters, Stephanie and Jessica.
Like many future world leaders, Matt celebrated his college graduation by beginning a career as a clerk at a comic book store. Having discovered that such work caused women to shun him, Matt taught high school, married his best friend Krista and joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ. Matt is the regional director for the Worldwide Student Network in the Greater Northwest and the author of the forthcoming book Imaginary Jesus. He still likes comic books though. Cas Monaco is a woman who has devoted her life to helping college students know, love and follow Jesus. She and her husband Bob have worked with students in the US, Russia and Italy and now serve as part of the national leadership for Faculty Commons. Cas is the author of a number of bible study guides, and loves hot black coffee, the Bible, Bob, the color red, students, M&M’s (plain and peanut) and TJ Maxx – not necessarily in that order.
David Butler, senior vice president of a major airline, has also been a national Judo champion, a top 10 Collegiate wrestling coach, a hospital executive, business owner, and vice president of the largest university in the United States. Involved in Cru as a student, he has continued to challenge men and women to be devoted followers of Christ in the marketplace.
